Fortune's Favor is a pity system introduced to the Invention skill to maintain balance. After failing an Invention upgrade, the chance of succeeding will increase by 5%. (This is reset on successful upgrades)

Your Fortune's Favor is displayed underneath the success rate of the item you're trying to upgrade, like this:

Upgrading different items

Let's say that you are in the middle trying to upgrade your Solrot's staff T2 into Solrot's staff T3 and have +10% Fortune's Favor but you decide to upgrade your Ring of wealth (i) into Ring of greed. The +10% from your Solrot's staff T2 does not affect the success rate of your Ring of walth (i) upgrade. And if you succeed in upgrading your ring into the Ring of greed, you still have +10% Fortune's Favor when going back to upgrading your staff.
